For her entire life, Amanda Wells has believed in pursuing goals one is passionate about, which is why she chose to major in visual arts after graduating with special honors at Sumrall Highschool. Amanda showed a talent for art from a very early age, and refined her skills in drawing, painting, and various other skills at PRCC. She will graduate in the Spring of 2012 and plans to not only do freelance artwork, but also to pursue a career in cosmetology after attending the Academy of Hair in Hattiesburg.

Amanda has done things from contributing to the design of the official flag for the city of Sumrall, as well as illustrating two children’s books. She also has shown knack for cutting the hair of several friends, family members, and even herself. While at PRCC she became a member of Phi Theta Kappa and maintained a 4.0 GPA thoroughout most of her semesters. Amanda also kept a workstudy position in the Garvin H. Jonston Library.

In her free time you will often find her working on some form of art project and hanging out with friends. She is also active in her church’s youth group, participating in things from service work projects, weekend camping trips, and working as a counselor for summer and winter camps.
